ORCC Board Members
The Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre (ORCC) is a grassroots organization that provides services and supports to survivors of sexual violence in Ottawa. The organization is undergoing a renewal process to stay responsive to the diverse and shifting needs of the survivor communities that the ORCC represents and serves. We are looking for people to join the ORCC Board of Directors to provide strategic direction and sound governance policy as the organization transforms. This is a unique and exciting time to join the ORCC. You will be joining an organization that continues to uphold and navigate ethical and best practices in service delivery for survivors of gender-based violence for decades to come.
It is a time of optimism for the organization, a time of innovation and reimagination. You will be part of broadening the reach of the ORCC as it develops and implements new strategies to serve survivors in the community.

Overview of the Volunteer Board Member Positions:
As an ORCC Board Member, you will be setting the organization’s strategic direction and governance policy. This role involves understanding and demonstrating a commitment to the ORCC’s mission, vision, and programs; and attending meetings regularly.
While not limited to, we are looking for board members with experience in the following areas:
- Fundraising and Donor Relations
- Human resources
We welcome those with prior volunteer Board experience or who have substantial experience in the areas mentioned. Board of Director positions are volunteer positions that will require a commitment of 8-10 hours per month for a 3-year term. Governance training will be provided to Board members, and meetings will be held once every month.
The ORCC will provide its Board members with orientation and training on essential operation activities of the organization and the operationalization of ORCC’s values.
