Meghan Sangster

I am committed to providing support that meets peoples needs through collaborative work that centres compassionate, strengths-based approaches to trauma informed care that are grounded in harm reduction practices. I understand that healing from experiences of violence can take many routes and supporting people as they navigate complex health care systems can be an important part of counselling. I blend approaches like cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, polyvagal theory, and solutions focused therapy following people’s self-reported needs. I am a member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and regularly participate in clinical supervision, peer supervision, and additional trainings to further my understanding of clinical practices.
