Christy Savage brings over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector to her role as Executive Director of the Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre (ORCC). Her career began in urban Montreal’s community recreation and development sector, where she worked closely with under-resourced communities. These early experiences shaped her lifelong commitment to supporting marginalized populations and addressing systemic barriers.

Christy’s professional expertise spans community engagement, municipal relations, advocacy, organizational management, strategic planning, fundraising, and program development. She holds a BA Honours in Political Anthropology (cultural mediation), a BA in Psychology, and a Graduate Certificate in Non-Profit Management.

In recent years, Christy’s work has focused on gender-based violence (GBV), trauma-informed care, and advocacy—areas that closely align with ORCC’s mission.

Passionate about advancing the work of ORCC and the broader GBV and VAW (Violence Against Women) sectors, Christy prioritizes collaboration, inclusivity, and community-driven solutions. She views her work as an opportunity to advocate for survivors' rights and dignity while contributing to a safer, more equitable future.
