Zahara Sheikh is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and Psychotherapist in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), bringing over ten years of experience supporting survivors of violence. Her work is rooted in creating a space that feels safe, grounded, and genuinely affirming, where clients can show up as they are and feel deeply understood. Zahara integrates psychological expertise with cultural awareness and spiritual alignment, honoring the layered identities and lived experiences each client brings into the room.
She specializes in Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) and Islamically Integrated Psychotherapy (IIP) and draws from a range of evidence-based approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy. Zahara’s approach is collaborative, client-centered, and strengths-based. She believes that healing happens when people are supported in reconnecting with their inner resources; not fixing what’s “broken,” but understanding what’s been protecting them. Together, she works with clients to build insight, process trauma, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change.
Her style is warm, intentional, and approachable, with a touch of humour that helps clients feel at ease, even when exploring difficult experiences. Clients can expect a holistic and personalized experience that is both culturally responsive and deeply attuned to their needs, goals, and pace.
