Before coming to the ORCC, she worked as an elementary school supply teacher and as a Project Coordinator at the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples, focusing on projects addressing gender-based violence and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG). These experiences have set her on a non-stop journey of learning how to be an ally, address systemic oppression that contributes to violence, and use her teaching skills to make complicated topics accessible to broad audiences.
Supporting folks using a strength-based approach has been at the center of all the work that Meg does. Moving forward, she hopes to contribute to ORCC's community and renewal process in a way that moves ORCC towards meaningful change.
